Board Members Present: Mike Fischer, Laura Schnoor, Malia Nemecek, Lynn Schnoor, William French, Don Beck


Board Members Absent:


Others Present: Supt. Ginger Meyer, Principal Brad Stithem, Recording Secretary Sharon Meyer


President Mike Fischer called the regular meeting of School Board #62 to order on Monday, July 10, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. A call of roll showed all members present, and 1 guest.


The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.


Open Meetings Act:

The board meeting will be conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.


Approval of the Consent Agenda:

Laura Schnoor moved to accept the consent Agenda which includes the approval of the agenda, the June 14, 2017 Minutes, Treasurers (attachment 1) and Financial (attachment 2) reports and the actual General Fund (attachment 3), expenses, second reading of Policies 402.01, 409.06, 502.04, 503.09, 504.17, 606.06A, 711.0, 802.05, 1005.02 and placed them on file. Nemecek seconded and motion carried 6-yes. All Policies are kept on file in the Policy Book.

New Business:


Administrative Reports:

Principal Stithem reported on the following items:

· Summer school was well attended and the program will end on July 20th.

· Will be attending Administrator Days on July 25-28 in Kearney.

· Sending out staff letters outlining the start of the school year.


Superintendent Meyer reported on the following items:

· Contacted Logan View regarding Coop of sports. Logan View Board will discuss options at their next meeting.


Discussion was held regarding the late option request for Aleesha Broussard.


First reading of policy 508.13 – School Wellness Policy (Attachment 4)


Nemecek made a motion to approve the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association membership for the 2017-2018 school year. Lynn Schnoor seconded and motion carried 6-yes.


Discussion was held regarding building and grounds matters.


Discussion was held regarding marketing of the school.


Executive Session:




There being no further business, Beck moved for adjournment at 8:51 p.m., Lynn Schnoor seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Monday, August 14, 2017, at 7:30 p.m., at the Scribner –Snyder Attendance Center. Agenda items are kept current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
