REGULAR MEETING

                                                              BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT #62

MONDAY, APRIL 9, 2018

6:30 P.M.

SCRIBNER – SNYDER BAND BUILDING

 

 

Board Members Present:  Mike Fischer, Laura Schnoor, Malia Nemecek, William French, Don Beck, Lynn Schnoor

 

Board Members Absent:  

 

Others Present:  Supt. Ginger Meyer, Principal Brad Stithem

 

President Mike Fischer called the regular meeting of School Board #62 to order on Monday, Aptil 9th, 2018 at 6:30 p.m.  A call of roll showed all present. 5 guests present.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

Open Meetings Act:

The board meeting will be conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

  

Approval of the Consent Agenda:

William French moved to accept the consent Agenda which includes the approval of the agenda, the March 12, 2018 Minutes, Treasurers (attachment 1) and Financial (attachment 2) reports and the actual General Fund (attachment 3),  Policy 503.07 Pregnant or Parenting Students and placed them on file.  Bills were removed from consent agenda. Lynn Schnoor seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

 

Laura Schnoor moved April bills be paid under authorization of Ginger Meyer.  Malia Nemecek seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

 

Visitor Comments: 

 

Administrative Reports:

Principal Stithem reported on the following items:

  • Tornado Drill/Evacuation Drill.
  • DIBELS Testing/Map Testing/ ACT.
  • NHS Tapping.
  • Class Registration.
  • Musical.
  • New Math Testbooks.

 

Superintendent Meyer reported on the following items:

  • Wall Mats.
  • Career Rocket.
  • Graduation Costs.
  • Discussed some Legislative topics.
  • Goal Retreat.

 

New Business:

Discussion was held regarding building and grounds matters Trane will be making recommendations on south windows.  Bus cameras were ordered and Englehardt’s are installing them. 

 

Laura Schnoor made a motion to approve job descriptions as presented.  Job descriptions wee updated to include some federal items and they now become administration guidelines.  Don Beck seconded the motion, motion carried 6-yes.

 

Laura Schnoor made a motion to approve 2019 Senior Ski Trip.  Lynn Schnoor seconded the motion, motion carried 6-yes.

 

William French made a motion to approve Occupational Therapist contract for Melissa Weddle through West Point Schools.  Lynn Schnoor seconded the motion, motion carried 6-yes.

 

Laura Schnoor made a motion to approve Physical Therapist contract for Brooke Chelen through Learn To Move.  Malia Nemecek seconded the motion, motion carried 6-yes.

 

Executive Session:

Laura Schnoor moved to go into closed session to discuss confidential attorney communications for the protection of an individual at 7:03pm.  Malia Nemecek seconded the motion, the motion carried 6-yes.

 

William French moved to come out of closed session at 7:12pm.  Lynn Schnnor seconded the motion, motion carried 6-yes.

 

Adjournment:

There being no further business, Laura Schnoor moved for adjournment at 7:13 p.m., Beck seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Monday, May 14, 2018, at 7:30 p.m., at the Scribner–Snyder Attendance Center.  Agenda items are kept current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
