                                                             BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT #62

MONDAY, JUNE 11, 2018

7:30 P.M.




Board Members Present:  Mike Fischer, Laura Schnoor, Malia Nemecek, William French, Don Beck, Lynn Schnoor


Board Members Absent:  


Others Present:  Supt. Ginger Meyer, Principal Brad Stithem, Recording Secretary Sharon Meyer


President Mike Fischer called the regular meeting of School Board #62 to order on Monday, June 11th, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.  A call of roll showed all present. 1 guest present.


The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.


Open Meetings Act:

The board meeting will be conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.


Approval of the Consent Agenda:

Laura Schnoor moved to accept the consent Agenda which includes the approval of the agenda, the May 14, 2018 Minutes, Treasurers (attachment 1) and Financial (attachment 2) reports and the actual General Fund (attachment 3), Special Building Fund (attachment 4), expenses, and placed them on file.  Lynn Schnoor seconded and motion carried 6-yes.


Visitor Comments: 


Administrative Reports:

Principal Stithem reported on the following items:

  • Handbook Revisions
  • Summer school services began June 4th.
  • Summer weight program began June 4th.
  • Want to thank Ms. Dunning for her years of service as SSCS Speech Pathologist.


Superintendent Meyer reported on the following items:

  • Staff development
  • Kids club
  • Co-op meeting with LV.
  • Board retreat on July 13th, 5:00 p.m.


New Business:

Congratulations to Teague Stewart on representing Scribner-Snyder at State Golf and Nicole Boyle, Kaylee Boyle and Faith Riggle for qualifying for state track.


Discussion was held regarding building and grounds matters.


Laura Schnoor made the motion to increase the lunch prices as presented for the 2018-19 school year, Lynn Schnoor seconded and motion carried 6-yes.


Laura Schnoor made the motion to approve the student, parent, staff and support staff handbooks for the 2018-19 school year, Beck seconded and motion carried 6-yes.


First reading of policies 402.09, 403.02, 504.03, 603.01, 604.12 and 708.01, which were written or revised to meet statutory requirements.


Executive Session:



There being no further business, Laura Schnoor moved for adjournment at 8:23 p.m., French seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Monday, July 9, 2018, at 7:30 p.m., at the Scribner–Snyder Attendance Center.  Agenda items are kept current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
