                                                           BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT #62

MONDAY, JULY 9, 2018

7:30 P.M.




Board Members Present:  Mike Fischer, Laura Schnoor, Malia Nemecek, William French, Don Beck, Lynn Schnoor


Board Members Absent:  


Others Present:  Supt. Ginger Meyer, Principal Brad Stithem, Recording Secretary Sharon Meyer


President Mike Fischer called the regular meeting of School Board #62 to order on Monday, June 9th, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.  A call of roll showed all present. 2 guest present.


The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.


Open Meetings Act:

The board meeting will be conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.


Approval of the Consent Agenda:

Lynn Schnoor moved to accept the consent Agenda which includes the approval of the agenda, the June 11, 2018 Minutes, Treasurers (attachment 1) and Financial (attachment 2) reports and the actual General Fund (attachment 3), Special Building Fund (attachment 4), expenses, second reading of Policies 402.09, 403.02, 504.03, 603.01, 604.12, and 708.01 which were written or revised and placed them on file.    Nemecek seconded and motion carried 6-yes.  All policies are kept on file in the Policy Book.


Visitor Comments: 


LB 1081 discussion with Bri McLarty, Deputy Dodge County Attorney.  This discussion includes 504.03 Student Conduct and is a requirement per statute.  Laura Schnoor made a motion to allow Ginger Meyer to meet with the Deputy Dodge County Attorney regarding the 504.03 policy prior to August 1 of each school year.  Nemeck seconded and motion carried 6-yes.


Administrative Reports:

Principal Stithem reported on the following items:

  • Summer School
  • Administration Days will be held on July 25-27 in Kearney.
  • Staff letters will be sent out soon.


Superintendent Meyer reported on the following items:

  • Strategic planning


New Business:

French made a motion to renew membership in the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association for the 2018-2019 school year.  Lynn Schnoor seconded and motion carried 6-yes.


Discussion was held regarding building and grounds matters.


Discussion regarding marketing.


Executive Session:



There being no further business, Laura Schnoor moved for adjournment at 8:13 p.m., French seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Monday, August 13, 2018, at 7:30 p.m., at the Scribner–Snyder Attendance Center.  Agenda items are kept current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
