Board Members Present: Mike Fischer, Laura Schnoor, Malia Nemecek, Don Beck, Cory Schlueter, Andrea Vacha
Board Members Absent:
Others Present: Supt. Ginger Meyer, Principal Brad Stithem, Recording Secretary Sharon Meyer
President Mike Fischer called the regular meeting of School Board #62 to order on Monday, February 11, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. A call of roll showed all members present. 5 guests present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Open Meetings Act:
The board meeting will be conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.
Approval of the Consent Agenda:
Schnoor moved to accept the consent Agenda which includes the approval of the agenda, the February 11, 2019 Minutes, Treasurers (attachment 1) and Financial (attachment 2) reports and the actual General Fund (attachment 3), expenses, and placed them on file. Schlueter seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
The SSCS safety committee presented the “I Love You Guys” protocol.
Principal Stithem reported on the following items:
- P-T Conferences will be held on Thursday, February 14
- Second round of Maps testing are complete.
- Pre-school/Kindergarten Round-up will be held on Tuesday, February 26th from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
- Students of the month are Neveah Vacha (6th) and Rachel Lodl (11th), and Staff of the month are Kendra Paulson (Para) and Deron Meyer (IT Coordinator/Activities Director)
Superintendent Meyer reported on the following items:
- Attended NASB Legislative Conference
- Completed the Homeless Liaison Training
- Best time for committee meetings.
- Water bill increase
Schlueter made a motion to approve the elementary flooring project as presented by Trane with recommendations by buildings and ground committee. Nemecek seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
Nemecek made a motion to accept the 2019-2020 school calendar with the exception of the Spring Parent Teacher Conference being moved to Wednesday, February 12th. Vacha seconded and motion carries 6-yes.
Schnoor made a motion to approve Marissa Gaston as a teacher beginning the 2019-2020 school year, Beck seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
Schnoor made a motion to approve Ginger Meyer as the signing agent for E-Rate, Schlueter seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
Schnoor made a motion to approve Ginger Meyer as the signing agent for district, state and federal programs, Vacha seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
There being no further business, Schlueter moved for adjournment at 7:51 p.m., Vacha seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Monday, March 11, 2019, at 6:30 p.m., at the Scribner –Snyder Attendance Center. Agenda items are kept current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
