Band Parade

To all Junior/Senior High band members:

The coming of this letter reminds us that summer is winding down. Before we know it, it will time for the Dodge County Fair and August 4th is drawing near.  The Dodge County Fair concludes with their parade on Sunday, August 4th at 4:30pm.  We will be marching in that parade as in the past so it is time to get prepared.

Practices will start on Monday, July 29th and will be held Monday through Thursday.  The practice schedule is listed below and it is important that we all make the commitment to be there for those practices.  These practices are not just for marching in a straight line (which we will need to work on), but also for building our lips back up as far as endurance goes.  I expect our full band rehearsals to last about an hour but if there are problems to fix, we could go longer.  It all depends on you.

We will continue with the summer parade uniforms that we wore last year of KHAKI SHORTS and the band polo.  However, the main stipulation is that the shorts have to be fingertip length or something similar to a Bermuda short.  Nice tennis shoes (not sandals or flip flops) are required as well.

Times for the practices and Dodge County Parade is as follows:

Monday, July 29

  • 6pm - Percussion
  • 6:30pm – Full Band

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

July 30 & 31- August 1

  • 6:30pm – Full band
  • Percussion afterwards if needed.

Sunday, August 4

  • 4pm – Meet at Band Room
  • 4:30pm – Parade begins

See you on the 29th!!!

It's a great day to be a Trojan!
