Board Members Present: Mike Fischer, Laura Schnoor, Malia Nemecek, Don Beck, Cory Schlueter, Andrea Vacha
Board Members Absent:
Others Present: Supt. Ginger Meyer, Principal Brad Stithem, Recording Secretary Sharon Meyer
President Mike Fischer called the regular meeting of School Board #62 to order on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 8:07 p.m. A call of roll showed all members present. 20 guests present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Open Meetings Act:
The board meeting will be conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.
Approval of the Consent Agenda:
Schnoor moved to accept the consent Agenda which includes the approval of the agenda, the June 10, 2019 Minutes, Treasurers (attachment 1) and Financial (attachment 2) reports and the actual General Fund (attachment 3), expenses, and placed them on file. Schlueter seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
Principal Stithem reported on the following items:
- Summer school has resumed for July.
- All new curriculum has been ordered and received.
Superintendent Meyer reported on the following items:
- Missoula Children’s Theatre
- Close Up
Schnoor made the motion to renew the membership in the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association for the 2019-2020 school year. Nemecek seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
Discussion was held regarding buildings and grounds.
Discussion was held regarding marketing of the school. The school board will provide watermelon at the Dodge County Fair and also participate in the parade.
First reading of policies 203.06, 203.66, 413.05, 502.01, 504.15, 507.02, 507.03, 510.01, 604.11, 610.03, 702.03, 706.01, 711.00, 1005.0, which were written or revised to meet statutory requirements.
There being no further business, Schnoor moved for adjournment at 8:45 p.m., Beck seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Monday, August 12, 2019, at 7:30 p.m., at the Scribner –Snyder Attendance Center. Agenda items are kept current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
