SSS Snapshot by Supt. Kate Chrisman

SSS Snapshot
By Kate Chrisman, Scribner-Snyder Community Schools, Superintendent

It is my true honor to write this as the new superintendent of Scribner-Snyder Community Schools. In the few short weeks, I’ve officially been a part of this district, I’ve already been deeply impressed with the heart, warmth, and dedication I’ve witnessed. From welcoming conversations with staff and students, to the visible support of parents, local leaders, and community members — it is clear this is a district rooted in pride, purpose, and a sincere commitment to our youth.

There is no doubt in my mind that Scribner-Snyder is a place of great strength. While every district has areas in which it can grow, we are already standing on a solid foundation. The commitment here goes beyond academics — there's a shared goal of nurturing well-rounded individuals who will succeed not only in the classroom, but also as citizens and contributors in their communities. That shared mission is inspirational.

As a long-time Dodge County resident, I am not naive to the challenges this district has faced. But rather than shy away from these realities, I see them as further proof of this area's strength and resilience. My background as a lifelong learner and lover of history has given me a deep respect for the story of this school district — a story filled with perseverance, struggles, and plenty of victories. History shapes who we are, but it also gives us insight into who we can become.

I am thrilled to now be part of the Scribner-Snyder story. I look forward to working together to keep that story moving in a strong, positive direction. I value transparency and open communication, which is why I encourage you to reach out to me directly — whether by email or over a cup of coffee. Your insights, solutions, concerns, and ideas matter. After all, not all change is improvement, but every step toward improvement does involve change — and we can’t improve without listening and learning from one another.

Thank you again for the warm welcome. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together this year. Let’s show our Trojan Pride — the best is yet to come!
