Nemecek accepts new position
Scribner‑Snyder Community Schools Announces Interim Superintendent
Scribner‑Snyder Community Schools is pleased to share that Mrs. Malia Nemecek has been selected to serve as the district’s Interim Superintendent, effective July 1, 2026. Mrs. Nemecek applied for the Interim role and participated in an official interview process, coordinated by the Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB) Leadership Search Director Shari Becker. The process included formal interviews with a teacher/staff team and the board of education. The board was impressed with her strong commitment to educating all students and her dedication to supporting staff. As a graduate of Scribner-Snyder, she has a rich history with the district and a broad range of experience as an educator. In her current role as PreK-12 Principal, she has also previously served as an elementary teacher, School Improvement Coordinator, Athletic Director, and District Assessment Coordinator.
In accepting the position, Mrs. Nemecek shared: “This district and both communities mean a great deal to me. It has been a privilege to serve as principal, and I’m honored to continue working with our students, staff, and families as superintendent to support the success of every student.” Board President Dyann Bradbury expressed the board’s confidence in Mrs. Nemecek’s leadership: “On behalf of the school board, I want to congratulate Mrs. Nemecek. She is an exceptional educational leader with a strong track record of working collaboratively with school leaders and staff to improve outcomes for students. She has the vision and skills to support Scribner‑Snyder in realizing our commitments to our students now and into the future. She is committed to the success of our community’s children and will accelerate the great work underway throughout the school district. Mrs. Nemecek will partner with our students and their families, staff, and the broader community to ensure each and every student in the Scribner‑Snyder school district has the opportunity to pursue and achieve their hopes and dreams. The Board looks forward to supporting her as she leads our district as Interim Superintendent.”
The board has an agreement with Mr. Rex Pfeil to serve as the part-time Interim Superintendent for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. This transition time will give Mr. Pfeil and Mrs. Nemecek the opportunity to continue working together while she completes her Principal contract. She is eager to get to work as the leader of the school district and is looking forward to more involvement in the community with her new role. Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Malia Nemecek on this well‑deserved appointment and in welcoming her to this new leadership role.
