Congrats to those who got the trivia question correct: 3 medals can be worn on the FFA jacket. Today's question: How many state FFA degrees are being awarded at our state convention this year? You will have to email your answer to Mrs. Ryun today. Also, congrats to Krista for finding the owl yesterday.  Be on the lookout for it again today! 

FFA members - don't forget about breakfast tomorrow morning! Please plan to be here with your items at 7:30. Tomorrow's dress up day: Blue and Gold (FFA members in official dress!). 

Good luck to the Fortnite teams on their matches tonight.

Speech Students: If you are competing at Saturday's March 9th Wisner-Pilger Invite, commitment forms are due by noon on Wednesday. We will load the vans at 6:30 AM and depart in our professional dress clothes at 6:45 AM.  You could be the next "Brick Winner" this weekend!

Speech Students: If you are competing or working at the District Speech Tournament on Monday, March 11^th you will want to check in with Mrs. Enos in the Commons between 7-7:30 AM in professional dress before heading to the team homeroom.  The State Qualifier is almost here! GOOD LUCK, TROJANS!

Seniors: The prom committee will need a glassless framed 5x7 senior photo for Prom. Please bring to the office.

The City of Scribner is now taking applications for managers and lifeguards. Applications can be picked up in the office.

Those interested in taking Driver’s Ed need to sign up with Mr. McDuffee by Friday, March 15th.  Students must be 14 by October 15^th, 2024.  Cost of the class is $300 for SS students $350 for non S-S students and that fee will have to be paid by April 5^th. Reminder to all 6th-12^th grade students that the end of the quarter sheets are due to Miss Piper by THURSDAY!!

Reminder - National Honor Society applications are due to Mrs. Fischer by the end of the day today.

Today's FFA Week trivia question: How many medals can be worn on the front of an FFA jacket? Call, email, or stop in the Ag Room with the correct answer for a prize.

Tomorrow's dress up day is Camo vs. Bling! Don't forget to be on the lookout for the hidden owl. If you find it, bring it to the Ag Room.

FFA Members attending CDEs Monday in Norfolk - Please arrive by 7:25 am in official dress with a pencil or two.  Ag Mechanics team members- your proper contest attire is: jeans, close-toed shoes, etc. instead of official dress.  Lunch is provided but you can bring drinks/snacks/money for concessions/etc. Feel free to bring homework or something to keep you occupied when you are not in a contest. Reminder: Your Yellow Sheets are due back in the office by 3:30 TODAY.

Speech Students: Today is the last day to turn in your t-shirt order form and payment if you wanted a team shirt this year.

Speech Students: You will want to check in for Conference Speech on Wednesday by 7:30 AM in the Commons at the Registration Table w/Mrs. Enos. Make sure to arrive dressed in professional attire. After check-in, you will meet in the Team Homeroom (also the Conference Room) to pick up your supplies and warm up in the gym to get ready for Round 1 of competition.  Go Trojan, Speech!

Speech Team Members: T-Shirt Order Forms and payment are due to Mrs. Enos by 3:30 PM tomorrow.

Musical practice schedule has been posted outside of the office as well as emailed to cast.  Please let Mr. Poessnecker know if you have any questions or conflicts ASAP.

Tomorrow morning, we will have a send-off for the state wrestling qualifiers and state dance. All students should report to their homeroom for attendance/Lunch count. Band members may then be excused at 8:05 to get their instruments. All other students/teachers should plan to be in the commons area by 8:10 a.m. for the send-off.

Congratulations to Kristen and Nattlie on qualifying for the Girls State Wrestling Tournament this Thursday afternoon. Kristen finished the day as District Champion and Nattlie brought home the District Runner-Up medal. Congratulations also to Emily, Hector and Dereck and all of the SSCS coaches for representing our school with dignity and class. Also good luck to Hannah and the entire LVSS Dance Team at State Dance this Saturday.

Speech Team Students: Your commitment form for Saturday's Speech Invite at Mead is due to Mrs. Enos by noon on Wednesday. Practice time slots will be available Monday-Thursday before and after school and Friday from 9 AM - 6 PM. Mrs. Drey and Mrs. Enos are here to help!

FFA has concessions on Thursday for the JH basketball game. Sign up in the Ag Room. 

We have elementary mentoring on THURSDAY. You will be making Valentines for the veterans.  If you have any Valentine themed stickers, papers, ribbon, etc. that you would like to donate, please get them to Mrs. Schroetlin by Wednesday so I can get them divvied up. Otherwise, you can just bring them for your individual classrooms also.

Senior Speech Team Members Competing tomorrow: The school vans leave at 6 AM in the high school parking lot.  Please come professionally dressed.  Breakfast provided.  The following students still need to activate your Speechwire accounts for tomorrow's competition: Izzy, Ashley, McKenna, and Hannah.  Check your school email for the link.  See Mrs. Enos before the end of the day if you need help with this.

Congratulations to the SS Quiz Bowl team on their Round 2 victory over Plainview yesterday during the KTCH Radio Quiz Bowl Challenge. They will compete again on Feb. 12th.

Speech Team Students: Those attending the Homer Invite this Saturday, we will be leaving at 6 AM from the high school parking lot.  Come professionally dressed.  Breakfast and snacks will be provided. Bring your phone or your school computer to the competition for online postings during the speech meet.  Make sure to activate your Speechwire student account via your school email prior to Saturday's meet.  See Mrs. Enos if you have any questions on how to do this.

Tonight at 5:30 in Mrs. Drey's room is the Traveling Troop meeting for the trip to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France. If you are planning to attend, but haven't RSVPed on the link please see Mrs. Drey. There will be snacks and lots of good information. The meeting will last 30 minutes.

The 2^nd quarter reward from MS/HS will take place Jan. 5^th from 1:00 to 3:30. Reminder to ALL students that activity sheets are due to Miss Piper by the end of day tomorrow! No sheets will be accepted late! Please check with either your homeroom teacher or Miss Piper about your current standing on quarter 2 points.

Tomorrow is Kick-Off the countdown-Dress up as your favorite seasonal character; Thursday-Winter Wonderland-Wear White; Friday-Channel Your Flannel. A complete listing is posted on the bulletin board outside the high school office and on flyers posted around both the elementary and high school buildings.

One-Act Cast and Crew: Please make sure to be on stage tonight in performance attire, hair and make-up by 7:15 PM behind the red curtain.  Costumes and make-up will be available outside of the locker rooms immediately after school on Tuesday until showtime.  We will all be creative, flexible, and help each other as we host an entertaining evening for our community and honor our seniors in their last show.  Break a Leg!

FFA: Fruit truck will be here Wednesday. Holiday Party is Friday. Sign up in the Ag Room to help with the food pantry Friday and Saturday.

Congratulations to the One-Act Cast & Crew on their Best of Show D2 District Runner-Up Award!  Congratulations also goes out to the SSCS Crew who earned the Top Technical Award at the contest!  Gillian Hunke was awarded Best Overall Actress for the whole competition! Individual Acting Awards were given to: Jill Adams, Krista Beranek, Emily Hull, Nattlie Hull, Gillian Hunke, Rylee Nemecek, Hannah Ryun, Shandera Simpson, and Ashley Stadt!  Amazing Job!

Congratulations to the SSCS One-Act!  The ensemble earned overall 3rd Place Honors out of eight schools in the EHC hosted at Pender High School!  One of the judges in the three-judge panel ranked SSCS 1st PLACE out of all the schools competing today!  Hannah Ryun was awarded Best Overall Supporting Actress out of all eight shows! Individual Crew Tech. Awards: Izzy Carrier, Eli Enos, Jacey Meier, and Shandera Simpson; Individual Acting Award Honors: Jillian Adams, Krista Beranek, Garrett Hunke, Gillian Hunke, Rylee Nemecek, Hannah Ryun, Shandera Simpson, and Kadyn Wheelock

If any One-Act member would like to help with the BB concession stand on Thursday, there is still one opening available for each shift.  Thank you for your help!

One Act Cast and Crew:  Tonight's REQUIRED Dress Rehearsal includes hair, make up and costumes in the locker room.  Cast & Crew need to arrive at 6 PM.  Dinner provided in the Commons from 5:45 -6:15 PM.  Everyone needs to be on stage in full attire at 6:30 PM. Rehearsal will go until 8 PM.  If you want to come earlier than 6 PM for hair, make-up, and costumes, Mrs. Enos will be in the stage area to supervise as early as 5 PM.

One-Act Cast Crew.  Tuesday is the EHC Competition!  We will load the bus tomorrow morning at 7 AM and depart at 7:15 AM.  Breakfast food will be provided on the bus. See Mrs. Enos today if you have questions about how to pack for the day or refer to last week's handout. Break a leg!

Good luck to the LVSS volleyball team on Monday at Sub-Districts. LVSS will face Winnebago at 4:30 p.m. With the win, they will advance to play #1 seeded Omaha Nation at 7 p.m.

A reminder that today is the final day of Quarter 1. All assignments need to be turned in before you leave today or they will be recorded as zero’s. No exceptions as grades will be stored in PowerSchool.

Attention Students: From this day forward, if you receive a Yellow Sheet from a teacher to attend a school event and you do not have a parent signature on it, the office has been instructed not to accept any phone calls or emails from a parent granting permission. You just won’t be able to attend the event if the deadline has past and the form isn’t signed.

Students: When you get a blue slip and will be gone during Trojan Time, that teacher will also need to sign your blue slip so that they know for attendance/lunch count where you are.

Students: You are reminded that you need to check out the library books you are taking and not just take them off the shelf and put them back in the basket when you are done. Please follow the proper procedure for checking out a library book.

Homecoming Spirit Week concludes today with Trojan Pride Day. The parade/pep rally/coronation is today at 2:15 p.m. All Students and staff should gather by the band building and be ready to start marching at 2:15 p.m. Students will return to the school for dismissal at regularly scheduled times. Please dismiss the band members at 2:10 today to go get their instruments ready.

Seniors are reminded to get their contracts turned in to Mrs. Fischer or Mrs. Schafer.

Due to possible incoming inclement weather, the football game start time for tomorrow night has been changed to 6 p.m.

Homecoming Spirit Week: Today is Barbie/Ken Day and tomorrow is Trojan Pride Day. The parade/pep rally/coronation is tomorrow at 2:15 p.m. Students and staff should gather by the music suite and be ready to start marching at 2:15. Students will return to the school for dismissal at regularly scheduled times.

Today is the deadline for Outside Dance date forms for LV’s dance. Tickets are on sale until noon tomorrow. The dance will be from 9-11:30 with pictures beginning at 8 p.m.

One-Act Concession will take place this Thursday at the Scribner Softball Field at 4 PM for the first shift and 6:30 PM for the second shift.  Thank you to those who have signed up to work a shift!  There is one slot left for the second shift if you are available.

Tickets for the LVSS Homecoming Dance on Sept 23^rd are available in the high school office. The cost is $10. Outside dates forms will need to be picked up and returned by Sept. 21^st. The dance will be from 9-11:30 with pictures beginning at 8 p.m.  Scribner-Snyder Homecoming dance is Oct. 7^th with pictures from 7-7:30 and the dance from 7:30-10 p.m. Outside dance forms will also be needed for our dance. Your 2023 Homecoming Court is: Jillian Adams, Garrett Hunke, Hannah Ryun, Ashley Stadt, McKenna Stewart, Kadyn Wheelock. There will be a meeting with the Student Council and Homecoming Court on Thursday at 745 in the media center to discuss what coronation will look like.

One-Act Cast & Crew: Tonight, is the Opening Dinner and Table Read for this year's production of "Breaking the News"!  Cheese pizza, chips, goldfish, granola bars and cookies are on the menu and Mrs. Enos will start serving at 6:30 PM in her classroom. Bring your script you received last Friday and a water bottle/own drink. The table read begins at 7 PM for ALL cast (please be on time). Crew attendance is optional, but highly encouraged.  We will be done no later than 8 PM.  Softball players are excused due to your rescheduled competition. We wish you the best of luck at your game tonight!

There will be a FFA Meeting TOMORROW morning during Trojan Time in the Ag Room.  We will be discussing upcoming dates and activities.

Students, reminder that the "Trojan Power" points system for quarter one has started. Activity, employment, and community service forms can be picked up in Miss Piper's room. The goal for quarter one is 50 points for all 7th-12^th graders and 40 points for 6^th graders. Additional points can be earned through "Trojan Tickets". If you receive a ticket, make sure to drop it off in Miss Piper's classroom! 

Today is the final day for Drop & Add forms to be turned in. These must be turned into the office by 3:30 p.m.
