REGULAR MEETING
BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT #62
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2025 @ 6:30 P.M.

OPEN THE MEETING
Call the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Scribner-Snyder President Fischer presiding.
OPEN MEETINGS ACT
Notice of this meeting was properly published in a newspaper of general circulation by advance Public Notice with notice and advance agenda given to all members of the board prior to the meeting date. Scribner-Snyder personnel Kate Chrisman, Malia Nemecek and Sharon Meyer were in attendance.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
ROLL CALL
A call of roll showed all members present: Janis Baker, Jake Brainard, Dyann Bradbury, Mike Fischer, Aaron Lange and Lisa Lawton.
WELCOMING OF VISITORS
5 visitors
Laura Schnoor and Dave Schnoor addressed the board regarding several concerns.
INFORMATIONAL REPORTS
Principal Report:
- Attendance
- Excellence Rally was a Hit
- Thank you to Mrs. Schroetlin and the Student Council for planning a great Homecoming.
- October14 - ACT
- October 14 – ASVAB test
- October 8 – Randy Dunn showed students some Civil Var/Native American artifacts as well as animal furs.
- September 17 – Dean Jacobs worked with grades 6-12 on growth mindset. Mr. Jacobs will return on October 15 to work with grades PreK-5.
- October 22 – Grades 6-12 will have a presentation on Distracted Driving.
- October 16 – End of First Quarter
- October 16 & 17 – Teacher In-Service
AD Report:

- Smeal Manufacturing representatives delivered school supplies that were gathered by their employees.

ACTION ITEMS
APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA
Lawton moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. This includes the approval of the agenda, September 10, 2025 Regular Meeting Minutes, September 29 Special Meeting Minutes, Treasurers Report (attachment 1), Financial Report (attachment 2), General Fund expenses (attachment 3) Special Building expenses (attachment 4) and placed them on file. Bradbury seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
NEW BUSINESS/ACTION ITEMS
DISCUSSION AND MOTION: SELECTION OF SERVICE TO REPAIR MOISTURE ISSUE UNDER GYM/CAFETERIA
After discussion, Item was tabled - Board requesting references on Groundworks and Thrasher
DISCUSSION AND MOTION: PURCHASE OF NEW WRESTLING MAT
Brainard moved to approve the purchase of a new wrestling mat as recommended by the AD and wrestling coaches. Lawton seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
DISCUSSION AND MOTION: RENEWAL OF FOOTBALL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT
Bradbury made a motion to approve the 2-year cooperative agreement for football with Logan View Public Schools for the 26-27 and 27-28 school years. Lawton seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
DISCUSSION AND MOTION: HIRING LOCAL COMPANY FOR SNOW REMOVAL
After discussion, Item was tabled – Board requesting other quotes from local snow removal services.

There being no further business on the agenda of this meeting, President Mike Fischer adjourned this meeting at 7:58 p.m.
