BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT #62

WEDNESDAY, MAY 13, 2026 @ 6:30 P.M.

SCRIBNER – SNYDER BAND BUILDING

 

 

OPEN THE MEETING

Call the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Scribner-Snyder President, Dyann Bradbury presiding.

 

OPEN MEETINGS ACT

Notice of this meeting was properly published in a newspaper of general circulation by advance Public Notice with notice and advance agenda given to all members of the board prior to the meeting date.  Scribner-Snyder personnel Rex Pfeil, Malia Nemecek, Megan Stock and Sharon Meyer were in attendance.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

ROLL CALL

A call of roll showed all members present:  Janis Baker, Dyann Bradbury, Jake Brainard, Mike Fischer, Lisa Lawton, David Schnoor

 ACTION ITEMS

 

APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA

Fischer moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented.  This includes the approval of the agenda, April 15, 2026 Regular Meeting Minutes, Treasurers Report (attachment 1), Financial Report (attachment 2), General Fund expenses (attachment 3) Special Building expenses (attachment 4) and placed them on file.  Brainard seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

 

CERTIFIED STAFF RESIGNATION

Brainard moved to accept the resignation contingent upon hiring a suitable replacement of Emily McEvoy, Kindergarten Teacher, at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 school year. (Attachment 5) Baker seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

 

CERTIFIED STAFF HIRING

Baker moved to approve the teaching contract for the 2026-2027 school year for Amy Steinmeyer.  After discussion Lawton seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

 

SUMMER PROJECTS

Brainard moved to approve the summer maintenance projects.  After discussion, Lawton seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

 

POLICY REVISIONS

Discuss, consider, and take all necessary action on revisions to the following policies as a result of Legislative action:  607.11-Bulletin Boards; 804.02-Data or Records Management; and 504.01-Attendance.  Fischer moved to approve the revisions to board policies as presented.  After discussion Baker seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

 

DISCUSSION ITEMS AND INFORMATION ITEMS – NO ACTION TO BE TAKEN

  • Construction Update

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Brainard moved to enter executive session at 8:07 pm for the protection of the public interest and for the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual for the purpose of discussing legal consultation and reviewing identifiable student data.  Baker seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

 

RETURN TO REGULAR SESSION

Schnoor moved to resume Regular Session at 8:55 p.m.  Lawton seconded and motion carried 6-yes.

 

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business on the agenda of this meeting, President Dyann Bradbury adjourned this meeting at 8:56 p.m.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in the Scribner-Snyder Band Room.  Agenda items are kept continually current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
