                                                     BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT #62 

                                                   WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8, 2023 @ 6:30 P.M.  

                                                     SCRIBNER – SNYDER BAND BUILDING 

 

 

Open the Meeting 

Call the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Scribner-Snyder President, Laura Schnoor presiding. 

 

Open Meetings Act 

Notice of this meeting was properly published in a newspaper of general circulation by advance Public Notice with notice and advance agenda given to all members of the board prior to the meeting date.  Scribner-Snyder personnel Joe Peitzmeier, Sharon Meyer, Brad Stithem and Malia Nemecek were in attendance. 

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 

 

Roll Call 

A call of roll showed 5 members present:  Janis Baker, Don Beck, Mike Fischer, Aaron Lange and Laura Schnoor. 

 

Welcoming of Visitors

Rachyl Kafonek (Business Teacher) and her Entrepreneurship students, Lange, Stewart and Nemecek reported on their class project of starting up the “Trojan Hut”.

Superintendent Peitzmeier reported on the following items:

- NRCSA Conference – March 23 & 24 

-Attended NRCSA Legislative Forum

  • Updated the Board on Superintendent attendance/absences 

 

 

 

Malia Nemecek – AD/Data Student Services  

  • Reported on Track Participation 

  • Speech Team Members all medaled and the team placed 3rd at Districts.  State Qualifiers are Hannah Ryun-District Champion, Rylee Nemecek-District Champion, Ashley Stadt, Krista Beranek, Kadyn Wheelock and Izzy Carrier.  Congratulations to the Speech team and Coaches.

Action Items 

 

Approval of the Consent Agenda 

Fischer moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented with excusing Matt Kruse from the meeting. This includes the approval of the agenda, the February 20, 2023 Minutes, Treasurers Report (attachment 1), Financial Reports (attachment 2), General Fund expenses (attachment 3), Building Fund expenses (attachment 4), and placed them on file.  Beck seconded and motion carried 5-yes, 1-absent (Kruse) 

 

Discuss, Consider and Take all Necessary Action to Approve Open Enrollment Capacities Resolution and Appendix 1 

Lange moved to approve the Open Enrollment Capacities Resolution and Appendix 1 (attachment 5).  Baker seconded and motion carried 5-yes, 1-absent (Kruse) 

 

Consider and Act on Hiring of Staff 

Fischer moved to approve that Bernadette Bowling be hired as a Full Time Substitute Teacher for the 2023-2024 School Year.  Beck seconded and motion carried 5-yes, 1-absent (Kruse)

Adjournment 

There being no further business on the agenda of this meeting, President Laura Schnoor adjourned the meeting at 7:13 p.m.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education of District #62, Dodge County, will be Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 6:30 p.m., in the Scribner–Snyder Band Room.  Agenda items are kept continually current in the superintendent’s office and may be inspected during regular business hours.
