BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT #62

                                                     WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2022 @ 6:30 P.M.

SCRIBNER – SNYDER BAND BUILDING

 

 

Open the Meeting

Call the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Scribner-Snyder President, Laura Schnoor presiding.

 

Open Meetings Act

Notice of this meeting was properly published in a newspaper of general circulation by advance Public Notice with notice and advance agenda given to all members of the board prior to the meeting date.  Scribner-Snyder personnel Joe Peitzmeier, Sharon Meyer and Malia Nemecek were in attendance.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

Roll Call

A call of roll showed all 5 members present:  Don Beck, Mike Fischer, Laura Schnoor, Cory Schlueter and Andrea Vacha.  Absent – Matt Kruse

Informational Reports

Board Members –President Schnoor reported that Beck, Peitzmeier and Schnoor attended the NASB Area Membership meeting on August 24th

 

Principal Stithem reported on the following items:

  • NSCAS/Maps Testing
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences have been scheduled for Wednesday, September 21st
  • Homecoming week is September 26th – October 1st.
  • ESU Consultant Training
  • 4-5-6 grade students will have a guest speaker (Randy Dunn) on September 15th

 talking about Nebraska history.

 

Student Presentation:  Merivath Zamora shared her experience as the Girls State Representative for our area.

 

Director - Malia Nemecek – AD/Data/Student Services

  • Hosting Capitol Conference Softball on September 24th
  • Hosting C-Team VB Triangular on October 10th
  • Hosting JV VB Triangular on October 17th.  It is also Pink-Out Night.
  • Applying for the chance to host District Speech this year
  • Fun Fest tickets are on sale
  • Hosting Conference Quiz Bowl on March 27th
  • Data Update

Superintendent Peitzmeier reported on the following items:

  • Finance:

                          -Audit September 26th

                          -LB644 Meeting in Fremont – September 27th

                          -Budget and tax levy hearings – September 28

  • Curriculum:

-ESU 2 Support for Language arts and 5/6 science

  • Facilities:

-Fridge/Freezer update

  • Workshops/Meetings:

-Aaron Lange, Janis Baker, Laura Schnoor and Joe Peitzmeier 

 participated in the NASB Board Candidate Webinar

-Reminded the Board about registering for the NASB Fall Conference                                               

  • Miscellaneous:

-Homecoming

 

Updated the Board on Superintendent attendance/absences

 

Action Items

 

Approval of the Consent Agenda

Vacha moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented with excusing Matt Kruse from the meeting. This includes the approval of the agenda, the August 10, 2022 Minutes, August 31 Special Meeting Minutes, Treasurers Report (attachment 1), Financial Reports (attachment 2), the actual General Fund expenses (attachment 3), Special Building Fund expenses (attachment 4) and placed them on file.  Schlueter seconded and motion carried 5-yes, 1-absent (Matt Kruse)

Adjournment

There being no further business on the agenda of this meeting, President Laura Schnoor adjourned the meeting at 7:07 p.m.
