Call the meeting to order at 6:27 p.m. Scribner-Snyder President, Dyann Bradbury presiding.

Notice of this meeting was properly published in a newspaper of general circulation by advance Public notice, with notice and an advance agenda given to all members of the board prior to the meeting date. Scribner-Snyder personnel Rex Pfeil was in attendance.

A call of roll showed all members present: Janis Baker, Jake Brainard, Dyann Bradbury, Mike Fischer, Lisa Lawton, and David Schnoor

Community members addressed the board with their concerns.
BUDGET APPROVAL
THE BOARD WILL DISCUSS AND CONSIDER ALL NECESSARY ACTION TO APPORVE THE 2026-2027 BUDGET.
- GENERAL FUND BUDGET
Schnoor moved that the General Fund Budget for 2026-2027 be set at $6,670,426.00 with a property tax request of $3,498,541.00. Lawton seconded and after discussion motion carried 4-yes, 2-no (Brainard, Fischer)
- BUILDING FUND BUDGET
Fischer moved that the Building Fund Budget for 2026-2027 be set at $2,979,324.00 with a property Tax Requirement of $509,091.00. Baker seconded and motion carried 6-yes.
APPROVAL OF TAX REQUEST
Lawton moved to approve the following Property Tax Request as stated. Schnoor seconded, and motion carried 4-yes, 2-no (Brainard, Fischer).
RESOLUTION SETTING THE PROPERTY TAX REQUEST
RESOLUTION NO. School Year 2026-2027
WHEREAS, Nebraska Revised Statute 77-1632 and 77-1633 provides that the Governing Body of Scribner-Snyder Community School District passes by a majority vote a resolution or ordinance setting the tax request; and WHEREAS, a special public hearing was held as required by law to hear and consider comments concerning the property tax request;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Governing Body of Scribner-Snyder Community School District resolves that:
- The 2026-2027 property tax request be set at:
General Fund: $3,498,541
Special Building Fund: $509,091.00
- The total assessed value of property differs from last year’s total assessed value by 5.66 percent.
- The tax rate which would levy the same amount of property taxes as last year, when multiplied by the new total assessed value of property would be 0.544549 per $100 of assessed value.
- Scribner-Snyder Community School District proposes to adopt a property tax request that will cause its tax rate to be 0.555758 per $100 of assessed value.
- Based on the proposed property tax request and changes in other revenue, the total operating budget of Scribner-Snyder Community School District will increase last year’s budget by 12.69 percent.
- A copy of this resolution be certified and forwarded to the County Clerk on or before October 15, 2026.
Motion by Lisa Lawton, seconded by David Schnoor to adopt Resolution # School Year 2026-2027.
